Marielle climbed up the winding stairs the breeze blowing back her brown hair out of her face. As she got to the top she looked around at all the owls. It took away her breath everytime. She looked around for a certain brown owl this time. "Ebony!" she called out into the sound of all the owls. A brown blur began to fly toward her a full speed stopping just in time to land on her shoulder. She lifted up her hand and began to pet him gently. "How are you?" she cooed softly. She stroked his brown feathers as he made a sort of purring nose. She smiled softly.

As Audrey reached the top of the stairs, she placed her hand on the stone walls and gasped for breath. She was going to send a letter for her sister and she couldn't wait to see her owl, Widow, once more. After a few seconds of taking a break, she entered the owlery and saw that there was a girl who was stroking a brown owl. Smiling a little, she walked inside and called out, "Widow!" with a sing-song voice. As the black owl came down from his perch, Audrey raised her left arm and looked at the girl, "Sending a letter as well?" she smiled a bit since she felt cheery today. When Widow landed on her arm she embraced it a little and stroked his black feathers.

Marielle looked up from Ebony over to Audrey as she called her black owl over to her. She thought it was pretty awesome that almost all the owls came when they were called. "I wasn't planning on it, just saying hi." she responded to the girl's question. Ebony put his beak on her shoulder sending a short pain through her body, "Ebony!" she scolded. Once he seemed to be calmed down again she looked back up at Audrey, "He is a little bit of a pain sometimes." The owl let out a shril call, "Shhh..."

"Yeow..." crunching her body a little, Audrey almost felt the pain when the girl's owl, whom she called Ebony, bit her shoulder. Shuddering a little, she tried to keep her poise. "Does he always do that?" arching an eyebrow and eying the owl quite cautiously. "Oh! I'm Audrey by the way." walking up to the girl and she smiled, "what's your name?" Audrey felt unusually friendly today. Brushing the thought off, she turned her focus back to the girl and her peculiar owl.

Marielle thought for a second about Ebony, "No he doesn't. I guess he is just feeling playful today." she said and rubbed the place where he got her. Audrey.... she liked the name. "I'm Marielle." she said softly before adding, "Ravenclaw." It seemed as though everyone she had met cared about what house they were in, well it kind of was competitive for the most house points.

Audrey shrugged her shoulders when Marielle mentioned her house. Most people have this kind of thing about houses. She never really cared about the house rivalries except when its about winning in Quidditch. "Cool, cool..." she said, nodding her head lightly and stroking Widow. "So that means you're smart, eh?" grinning mischievously at Marielle and frowning just after a second since she almost forgot about the letter she was going to send. "Oh my goodness! I almost forgot!" She almost slapped herself for forgetting that she still has to send the letter for her sister. Audrey quickly dug inside her pocket for the letter and placed gave it to Widow who caught it between his beak. Walking briskly outside, she petted her owl once more before letting it fly.

Marielle smiled watching Widow fly off. Ebony almost took off after Widow but then remembered that he was suppose to stay there with Marielle and stayed on his shoulder, "Yah, I guess I am smart." she said like it was no big deal. She began to feed Ebony a little piece of bread that she had snuck from the great hall. He made his little cooking sound again as he ate it. Marielle smiled.

Audrey watched as Marielle's owl, Ebony, ate the piece of bread that Marielle gave him. "He looks so sweet," tilting her head as she said so. Audrey was a kind of person who likes animals. People always thought of her as the weird girl when she was still living in the muggle world. Aside from her dyed bright pink hair, muggles always thought of her as a bad seed or simply a weird person since she wears clothes that most people don't wear or talks to animals like they can talk back. As she thought of this, she just absentmindedly looked at Ebony and she felt her face morph into a sad one.

Marielle was looking at Ebony smiling but when she looked up her smile turned back into a frown. She wanted to ask Audrey what was wrong but she was slightly afraid. She worked up her courage and said, Everything okay? She wasn't the greatest of the comforters and she barely even new Audrey. What she just asked could have been a pretty big mistake or it could have been something wonderful.

Slightly surprised, Audrey snapped back to reality when Marielle asked her if everything was okay. She tried to smile but she felt like she made such a bad smile. So Audrey just shook her head and said, "No, no," she tried to sound convincing, which she knew she was good at, "I just remembered something. Everything is... fine."
Turning her back, she looked up at the owls who were hooting noisily while perched. She smiled and placed her hands behind her back and sighed, "They are so pretty even though they are very noisy," she turned her head back to look at Marielle and continued, "aren't they?"

Marielle nodded still slightly afraid that something was the matter with Audrey. She closed her eyes and listened to the sound of the owls. It reminded her back at home with Ebony was in her room.
I use to not be able to get any sleep when I was back at home with Ebony.
Ebony was searching her coat for more food. Marielle held out her hands and softly said, No more. Ebony did one quick look before flying away satisfied that there was nothing left. She smiled watching her owl.

[ooc: hey.. umm. could you use quotation marks instead of just making them bold? its kinda confusing. thanks.]
Audrey looked back at Marielle as she talked. She also remembered that one night when Widow was screeching all night long. It turns out, her little sister placed a mock ghost by her window and only Widow could see it since she hides it whenever Audrey looks out at the window. The date of that awful long night? April 1. Remembering this, Audrey smiled and watched Ebony fly away.
She thought she'll never be able to keep an owl since for all people know, owls are usually 'night-persons'. They are asleep in the morning and awake in the evening. "Do you have, or have you had, any other pets aside from Ebony?" this she asked, suddenly remembering her dog, Beannie. Beannie used to give Widow a hard time. Clanging Widow's cage and often barking at the poor owl. But now that Widow is here with her, she knew that Beannie would be so happy to be the only pet in their house.
