Personal Information
Name: Rain Lynn Harcourt
Place of Birth: Sydney, Australia
Age/Year: 16 // Sixth
House: Gryffindor
Gender: Female
Blood (Muggle, Half, or Full): Half
Description
Eye color: Green
Hair color: Red
Overall Appearance: Rain is just a bit taller than other girls her age, and has shoulder-length red and orange hair, dyed of course.. She's all legs, which makes her great at running and gives her the appearance of a somewhat lanky person. Overall, she's somewhat pretty, and her green eyes stand out just a little. She also has a knack for making some pretty weird faces.
Personality: To those who first meet her, Rain might put on the impression of an eager and ready girl, who loves life, the world, and everything about it. Other times, she can be a bit shy and independent, and she has a bit of a sixth sense with knowing if she's going to end up liking or hating someone that she first meets. She tries to make as many friends as possible; she will carry an enemy-type of relationship with someone but not easily. She'll try to be as sweet as possible, but once it becomes obvious the friendship thing just won't work out, she'll go beside herself to make it known she doesn't like that person. When it comes to boys she doesn't really care, and as far as she's concerned they're like everyone else except a different gender. Of course, if the right guy comes along she might be a bit of a flirt, but nonetheless the same old Rain.
She'll go out of her way to get into the spotlight and loves to be the center of attention. She can also be a bit of a show-off, which tends to lead to jealosy and a bit of disgust on other peoples' part. Yet, she always has a bit of heart to give to every individual person, and has an uncanny way of remembering the names of everyone she comes in contact with. Let alone, she just has a good memory.
Likes: Nature itself, friendship, running
Dislikes: Lazy people, sitting around all day, silence
Flaws: Doesn't hesitate to show someone she doesn't care for them, sometimes resulting in a fight.
Family
Parents: Alley and Jeff Harcourt
Siblings: Delilah Harcourt (12, little sister)
Extended: Sharon Harcourt (Aunt)
History: Rain was born in Sydney, Australia, to Kathy and Jeff Harcourt. When she was four, Kathy gave birth to another girl, Delilah, who also inherited the magical power of her father but didn't know it yet. Of course, Rain's little abilities started to spark when she was on the brink of her seventh birthday, when she became angry because she couldn't find her presents anywhere. Before long, all of that built up and made the table nearby explode. Then, it was official. She had taken in her father's magical abilities, much to the disgrace of her mother. Kathy had always chosen to somewhat 'ignore' her husband's powers, though it was nearly impossible with Rain running around the house with fake wands and other wizarding occupations. She then feared that Delilah would follow in her sister's shoes, and sure enough, a few years later, that's exactly what she did. It was nothing to worry about though; as much as Kathy 'hated' her children, they would be off at school and away from her, only to come back during the holidays, if they wished. And that suited everyone just fine.
After a short bout of depression, Kathy had never been the same. She shunned her children and husband like a disease, and only went out of the house when seriously necessary. What she lacked in self respect she made up for in cleaning; a speck of dust didn't stand a chance in the Harcourt household. She soon began to constantly nag at her family more than ever, especially after finding out Rain had no interest in trying out for the Quidditch team. Ever since then, Rain had never felt any comfort at home whasoever, and eventually began to think that the school itself was her home instead of Sydney. That didn't matter though; the small amount of time she did spend with her mother was limited, and away from her as much as possible. Her friends soon became the only family she felt, not including her sister.

Roleplay Example (Minimum of at least two paragraphs): Maybe boredom itself had driven Rain out to the courtyard. She didn't really know what had caused it, and as she tightened her scarf around her neck against the billowing winds and snow of winter, she decided she was positively out of her mind to have gone out there while there was a warm fire and endless reading possibilities in the Hufflepuff Common Room. Then again, if she were up there, she wouldn't have the time she had right now to be alone, which was priceless at a time like this. She could just sit down in the snow and look out over the frozen lake, which was a masterpeice all on its own with the sun shining down and making it glisten, which almost had a blinding effect. Besides, what was there better to do? After walking around for a few seconds, she brushed the snow off of a huge rock, sat there, and took in the scenery along with the fresh winter air.
In her mind, a day or so had passed, but by checking her watch she knew it had only been about thirty minutes. She had taken her father's impatience, if anything else, but she never took it out on anyone except herself. Why couldn't she have taken in her mother's kindness, well, the kindness she had before the depression? She smiled to herself; she knew this sudden anger hidden inside her had been the first sign of her magical abilities and the start of her mother's madness. As she took another huge breath of the frostbitten air, she was actually glad she had taken time out of her day to come and sit and expand her mind a bit, giving it a break from the 1,000 page schoolbooks and essays. At least here she could have a break, whilst at home she was constantly forced to do something educational, which in her opinion should be required, by law, only at school. Laughing just a bit, she tore herself from her thoughts to watch the lake again.
